Primary sources are works created at the time of the event. Examples of primary sources:

  • newspaper articles written about a current event
  • articles about new research
  • autobiographies 
  • poetry
  • fiction
  • diaries 
  • art and music 

Secondary sources will interpret or analyzes primary sources. Examples of secondary sources:

  • history books
  • literary criticism
  • encyclopedias
