I am an instructor or faculty member who would like to embed scholarly articles within Blackboard for students to download as part of their coursework. Is this fair use, or do I need permission before I post them in Blackboard?

And what about book chapters—is it fair use if I post more than one chapter from a certain book in Blackboard?

I’m a student who has used my own previously published content in my thesis or dissertation, but I signed over my copyright during the publication process.

I’m a student who has used my own previously published content in my thesis or dissertation, but I signed over my copyright during the publication process. Now I’m being mandated to publicly display my thesis in the UH Institutional Repository in order to graduate. Am I able to display this copyrighted work in the Institutional Repository? What are the steps I should take to remain in compliance with the signed contract? Is there any alternative way to make the content available?
